Have a look around the demo
Explore a fully set-up demo venue, try anything you like, and get back to your own venue.
The demo is a private sandbox venue filled with sample suppliers, products, recipes and menu items, set up the way we recommend. Use it to see what Chefy looks like once it has real data, and to try things before you do them in your own venue.
Go to the demo
-
Open the help panel with the ? button in the bottom-left corner.
-
Click View in Demo. The help panel offers it on the welcome message and, later, on most pages, where it opens the demo on the same page you were looking at.
The first time you ask for the demo, Chefy builds it for you. That usually takes a minute or two; the help panel tells you when it is ready.
What you can do in the demo
Anything you can do in your own venue. Open recipes to see how they are built and how sub-recipes feed into other recipes, check menu items and their costs, browse products and suppliers, add new products, make edits. Nothing you do in the demo touches your own venue.
While you are in the demo, a banner sits above the main navigation that reads This is a demo environment, so you always know which venue you are in.
Return to your venue
Click the demo banner. It takes you straight back to your own venue.
Things to know
- The demo is yours alone. Nobody else can see it, and each person in your team gets their own.
- Demo data is temporary. The demo expires 24 hours after it is created; the next time you ask for it, Chefy offers to build a fresh one with up-to-date sample data.
- Because the data resets, do not build anything in the demo that you want to keep. Do it in your own venue instead.
